Experiments with the Deep Dream Generator Style Transfer

The following images were generated with the Deep Dream Generator style transfer. The resulting artworks are based on my own artwork and augmented through Deep Dream’s neural networks. The general concept behind this process is that the neural net is given two images. Image 1 is the main image. Image 2 provides the “style” which will be transferred onto image 1.

The general idea behind style transfer is not completely new in my opinion, we all know the different applications that let you pick different filters for your images. The final image created through these apps is comparable to what we can see in the results of a style transfer, even though the technical aspects are very different. What makes the Deep Dream Generator Style Transfer interesting is the fact that it can extract the style of an image and apply it to another. In my option this is a great tool to test different art styles without having to repaint your paintings or drawings.
