Experiments with the Deep Dream Generator

The following images were generated with the Deep Dream Generator. The resulting artworks are based on my original artwork. The basic concept behind this process is that the algorithm is pre-trained to recognize certain objects in an image. When it is given any image the deep dream generator algorithm will alter the given picture to make the objects it is trained to recognize more and more visible in it.

An interesting aspect of these generated images is that they seem to create an effect similar to a stereogram. When looked at closely the spectator can recognize individual shapes but not necessarily a cohesive picture. The further the spectator moves away from the image, the more the seemingly unrelated entities merge into a unit or a new image.
